The Context & Objective

Designed Bamptee, a user-friendly app for organizing roundtrips, vehicles, and drivers. As the Lead Product Designer, I focused on both the web and mobile applications, while supporting the development of other integrated platforms like Ordoria (Products & Sales), Stocky (Stock Management), and EMS (Employee Management System).

Logistics management involves numerous complex processes and interactions. The goal of Bamptee was to create a seamless and intuitive platform that simplifies these processes, enhances efficiency, and provides a unified experience for users managing roundtrips, vehicles, products, orders, and employees.

The main objective is to create a unified, scalable, and secure logistics platform with real-time tracking, seamless integration, intuitive UI, data consistency, automation, customizable dashboards, and enhanced communication to streamline operations and empower users.

Discovery

I met with the owner of the company who is mainly the COO (Chief Operations Officer). He knows his business Inside out, and was aware of the most common issues that were happening.

FOr the future Iterations of the UI i started doing UAT with the staff, but for the initial UI i used the COO's experience and input.

The Problems

Complex Workflow: Users struggled with managing multiple aspects of logistics in different systems.

Real-time Updates: A need for real-time tracking and updates of roundtrips, vehicle statuses, and inventory levels.

User-friendly Interface: Desire for an intuitive and easy-to-navigate interface to minimize training time and errors.

Fragmented Systems: Users had to navigate multiple platforms to manage different logistics tasks, leading to inefficiencies and data silos.

Manual Processes: Many logistics tasks were still handled manually, leading to increased workload and potential for human error.

Scalability Issues: Existing platforms struggled to scale with the growing needs of logistics operations, limiting their effectiveness for larger organizations.

Poor Integration: Integrating with other enterprise systems, such as ERP and CRM, was often cumbersome and unreliable.

Results and Impact

Increased Efficiency: The unified platform reduced the time spent switching between different systems, leading to a significant increase in overall operational efficiency.

Enhanced Visibility: Real-time tracking and notifications provided users with up-to-date information on roundtrips, vehicle statuses, and inventory levels, reducing miscommunication and delays.

User Satisfaction: The simplified user interface and intuitive design led to a reduction in user errors and a decrease in training time, contributing to higher user satisfaction ratings.

Automation Benefits: Automating repetitive tasks saved significant time and effort, allowing staff to focus on more strategic activities, thereby increasing productivity.

Scalability: The scalable architecture supported the growing needs of the organization, accommodating increases in data volume and user base without compromising performance.

Seamless Integration: Integration with other enterprise systems provided a holistic view of logistics operations, enhancing coordination and strategic planning.

Reflection and Learnings
