The Context & Objective
The client aimed to create a product for security companies struggling with monitoring multiple video feeds simultaneously.
The objective was to develop a platform using AI to analyze video feeds in real-time, reducing the need for constant human monitoring and increasing the speed and accuracy of threat detection.
Discovery
The PM of the project had initially conducted the meetings with the stakeholders and had the users & Business pain points. They also have a lot of experience in the field that they shared, so mainly it was about visualizing the ideas rather than finding the problems.
The Problems
Users struggled with alert fatigue due to the high volume of notifications.
Difficulty in quickly accessing and reviewing relevant video footage during incidents.
The initial concept was having a dashboard with numbers and analysis. It was difficult to navigate and felt out of context.
Current Platforms are outdated, lack proper visual hierarchy, are hard to use, and have a very steep learning curve.
The Outcome
Implemented a Map view instead of a dashboard which was easy to track and navigate. Also the Guards will not lose sight of the notifications.
The Feed view is now seemless and easy to track. You can expand the views and filter the notifications on whichever Feed you want.
Grouping Notifications based on source to easily track activities happening in bulk at a single source.
Easily transition to Building view / Floor View for a more detailed and tailored approach.
History Tracking, by selecting the dates you want to review and checking the notifications from the feed at any given time.
Results and Impact
Reduced average threat detection time by estimated 30%. Users reported a 40% increase in efficiency and a significant reduction in alert fatigue.
Positive feedback from beta testers indicated that the platform effectively improved response times and overall monitoring efficiency.
